Lonely,
alone,
I wanted my own
something that would stay
and not fade away
I'm not afraid
to find someone I love
who will atone
from the wrongs that I've done
Like an angel
you're pure as hell
that's contradictory
but that's another story to tell
non-existent
just like my love
you're a lie
but I love you too much
created from my thoughts
you're everywhere but here
just like a rush
that stays but disappears
You're my lie
and now you're gone
just like the drugs...
I've come to realize
I don't love you that much

I like how the poem goes from supporting love to not-supporting love, and I love the contradiction in every word. The rhyming and the beat of the words are also amazing! It kind of pounds it into your heart just to make sure you get the point. ;) Beautiful work!

I interpret this as an addictive, abusive relationship... drugs alter our mind after a while, in a way that it can not fully repair itself... when the drugs are removed, like a veil that is lifted, we are free to see things for what they truly are... maybe that love we felt was chemically induced, or maybe we just needed to hold onto something when the ground was shaking beneath our feet.
