Red Umbrella's are left in the rain
crying softly for those that left them behind
they've been through it all
these matching umbrellas
belonging to a love
once so strong
these red umbrellas are left in the rain
while one cries out
'please stay'
the wind carries on
taking one with him
until one umbrella's left in the soaking rain
a love now
miles apart
these red umbrellas carry pain

LOVED this.

I loved the umbrella metaphor, it has so many meanings. I especially loved the scenery here. I could see the many red umbrellas, vivid in color in the middle of nowhere while it's raining and there is wind. I just could envision it so clearly.

Then the "blowing away" of the other umbrella by the wind. I enjoyed this piece the most. Great write!
