Angel Of My Yesterdays

Angel Of My Yesterdays

A Poem by Paul Pruett

There was something in her eyes.

A glimmer in her smile.

The tone of her voice made me lust for every inch.

Beauty, when it is of the soul pulls you in.

And never lets you go.

I dream of the nights we made love.

Hard, fast and deep.

As soon as I left, I couldn’t wait to be in your arms again.

Oh, my old love, the mistakes I have made.

The roads missed, lost and not taken.

They curse me down the halls of my mind.

I would give it all away to lay by your side again.

Hold me once again, tell me it’s alright.

Let me caress you again ‘till the sun warms us.

Make love again in the dawn’s glow.

Wish and wish again.

For you.

Your touch.

Your love.
