O Wounded Love

O Wounded Love

A Poem by Paul Pruett

How my heart cries.

For you.

For me.

For loss.

For what we were.

What a fool I was.

How stupid have I’ve been.

Long years have I longed for you.

Long years done nothing.

Hearing of your pain.

Long years have I done nothing.

How cursed am I.

How my heart cries.

Weeping grief from my soul.

Over you.

Over what I have done.

For what I have not done.

I should have loved you more.

Cherished what we had.

Worshiped you every day.

The Goddess you are.

The fool that I am.

How cursed am I.

How loved you should be.

Every day of your life.

Loving you for all time.

I beg your forgiveness.

I beg this of you for the rest of my life.

For Angie.
