I wish we could touch like we did long ago.

I wish we could touch like we did long ago.

A Poem by Paul Pruett

I wish we could touch like we did long ago.

How we touched our bodies.

How we touched our hearts.

How we touched our souls.

My wounded life cries out for yours.

Cries of a past long since gone away.

Cries for a love that I foolishly let slip away.

I am punished for this evil every day.

Wishing every second.

Wishing every day.

I could go back and hold you again.

Feel the velvet of your skin.

Your lips on mine.

Your love washing away the fears of the night.

I wish we could touch like we did so long ago.

My curse is that I remember.

I really like this! It's so moving and touching, and I feel like it came straight from the heart. My favourite line is: "Your love washing away the fears of the night."
