So Far Gone

So Far Gone

A Poem by Paul Pruett

Back to a time I would go.

Back before my choices of late.

Back when I had you in my arms.

I would love you as you should be loved.

Hold you as I should have forever.

Kissed you long and sweet.

Back to that time I would go.

Before my foolishness overcame me.

And I let you walk away.

Back before insanity took my heart.

And hurt yours.

I would wish that I could see how truly blessed I was.

To be with you.

Hold you.

Kiss you.

Love you forever.

I have screamed unto God why I let this happen.

How I could commit such a sin upon you.

Forgive me.

For I can never forgive myself.

For Angie
