A QUIET GOODBYE

A QUIET GOODBYE

A Poem by Yhorm
"

I wrote this poem in the memory of my late mentor, how his memory lingers inside me

"
I look outside, I see the rain,
No matter the time, it brings back the pain.
That emptiness still lingers deep inside me,
No matter how far I run, I cannot flee.

I look outside, the clouds are crying,
I find myself still denying.
Wasn't sad that it ended,
But grateful that it happened"
Now realizing, it's time to mend.

The grief doesn't haunt me, with the closure I’ve found,
It makes sense now"it’s a sweet memory, profound.

The clouds cry, I imagine you're remembering me,
I can finally understand the way you loved me.
I could go on for hours, but I need to set the brakes.
If I’m honest, I’m past those heartaches.

For I have someone I cherish, and your memories won’t diminish.
I find no clear way to end this,
But all I want to say is: it was bliss.

I admire the mix of emotions that the narrator experiences. They’re sad to let go, but still look over their time together fondly, and how the poem still ends on a happy note. At least in the way that I’ve interpreted it, the narrator is deciding to be happy. Nice job.

I'm sure that person wouldn't rest if he found me still grieving
