elegy for a forgotten god

elegy for a forgotten god

A Poem by Yhorm
"

a god of forgotten worship pounders his significance

"
I waited, and no one came.
My choirs are just a forgotten name.
Temples that watched my ruin and pain
Now echo soft with unholy flame.

Before silence, there always is a song"
Even I once was mighty and strong.
Faith lit the skies, bathed in blood,
My wrath rolled forth like a holy flood.

Temples cracked, their incense turned to dust,
Along with a legacy no one could trust.
A god once worshipped, now buried in shame"
I waited, and no one came

This is so pretty. I’m a big fan of how the mirroring of the first and last line encapsulate the loneliness that this entity experiences. I would love to know what inspired this poem.
