In the Heart of the DevastationA Poem by Yuzuki CrossWhen anger and hurt take over, we cling to what our hearts have failed to reach.
As the sun disappears from the sky
Like dust in the wind Emotions that arise from yesterday Create hurricanes all around The sea of what was myself As I stand to face the eye of the storm I reflect on the ocean image And realize I am the enraged hurricane That destroyed towns and homes And crumbled the hopes of many Along with my own But when I look back on the disaster I see his lonely smile And his sympathetic eyes As his hand reaches for my remains He picks them up I could only wonder why Such a beautiful light would rain On such an ugly storm of rage That hated the world for it's ideals I can only wonder And the question still remains unanswered © 2011 Yuzuki CrossAuthor's Note
