Finding the Light

Finding the Light

A Poem by Cats Eye

So you want me to find the light

Well I must say

That I live in the light everday

Finding the light

Will not help my pain

Only bring me warmth

My emotional ties are everchanging

For me to be truely happy

I must first express my very being.

A poem that makes one think, no better gift. Religious overtones or not, the way you've written it leaves room for plenty of personal interpretation. Great write

For people who don't, or can't express their very being it is often hard for them to find happiness because they seek it outside of themselves like the light when in fact happiness is within us and has to be shared into the light. What a wonderful write.

Finding the light has religious overtones to it. For me, this is something where I feel just trying to live that way doesn't ease the pain. You need to release it in other ways, creative ways, like poetry.

I like the first stanza and the message of the poem- people say live in the light but what does that really mean? I think you can add more just to add to the subtle "f**k you" vibe you are giving off

yes....the all-curing Light. the Light is everywhere....no need to look. besides, when they all say to find the Light, I think of the movie Poltergeist....."run away from the light Carol Ann!" lol!

I like your conclusion.....express the whole Self....all of it.....trade the Light search for a bit of enLightenment, and you'll be more at your Center that way.

good piece....made me think. that is always a great gift.
thanks.

I like it. I think that we all interpret poems diffrently and I get from this one that when your upset or depressed or just blue, people always tell you to cheer up, which I cant stand myself. and usually your surrounded by happiness which only makes it worse. well done
