Battersea

Battersea

A Poem by Zoe Richardson
"

The relentless pounding missing someone carves into your soul.

"

Battersea

An urge

An ache

A flowerbed

How can I rest

My weary head

So much to do

My body says

The garden of advantages

Make earthly pains

And faded blooms

On empty tables

In empty rooms

Bursting forth in

Riotous hue

The gifts I have

Prepared for you

A hope alone

Strung out on stars

The weeping moan

Wrought from guitars

Steam and tears

The teapot’s kiss

The things of yours

That strike and miss

My restless dreams

And knotted time

Are all that you

Have left behind
