Little Girl Lost

Little Girl Lost

A Poem by Zoe Richardson
"

Remembrance is a blessing and a curse.

Little Girl Lost

He was brilliant

And brooding

All sunshine and sailcloth

A hero waiting to be rescued

I was a misfit princess

All edges and smiles

A pocketful of honesty

Lost in a forest of a simpler time

Together

We were nothing

Whispers behind hands

Dust caught in a breeze

He was the one thing

I could never have

I was the one thing

He never wanted

We are forever children

Sitting on the porch

Waiting for the next turn of air

I remember a simpler time. It was different in so many ways, and yet...we were children thinking when we were in love when really we didn't understand it at all.
Sometimes I think I would like to go back to that porch...sit on the swing and hold hands with the past.

Sounds like the little girl didnt get what she wanted...a harsh life lesson...

you take the reader on a journey here.......a process of unrequited love...

These are my favourite lines:

We are forever children
Sitting on the porch
Waiting for the next turn of air
