Forgetful Man

A poem to my father, my emotions when I was a freshman.

Silly man.

Your closed fists will not hurt me.

I do not feel pain,

Remember?

Rude man. 

Your words won't phase me.

My emotions are invalid,

Remember?

Stupid man.

You say I have no problems.

You are the one that caused them,

Remember?

Forgetful man. 

You better be careful.

I always overreact,

Remember?

Remorseful man.

When you never see me again

Maybe then you will

remember.

There is a lot of feeling and pain wrapped up in these words, and it has been expressed so well. It sounds like a response to a lot of the assumptions made by the aggressor(s), almost like a two fingers up at them. The topic is quite clearly a tough one, but I think you addressed it in a way that many people will appreciate and respect.
