A Poem by Perry

I watched my grandmother die one night--

just a little, but not for Chaplin, the old

boot. It was late. The dour announcement

Appeared on a flickering Tube.

It was Marilyn they’d pissed on.

Antonia let go of something then.

Her hope, I think.

Feels like media has the ability to desensitise us or at least numb us to some extent or even just ask our feelings in a dreamy haze of cathartic grieving. 🙏🏻🕊
