Lady

Lady

A Poem by Perry

They laid me to rest in Lady Forest,

under a carpet of needles and roots that rub me.

All the summer she spoke to me in lush tones,

and finally, emblazoned my hair with fall palettes.

Of a winter, her ice-covered arms

reached to embrace me, and  her silent

white carpets held me close in her frozen

cathedrals.
