Sapiens, a Cosmos

Sapiens, a Cosmos

A Poem by Zubair Ahmad

__________

Species who leapt the impossible,
Unwrapping what was shrouded by the mystery.

We, members of the human race,
Holders of the intricate intellect.

Our philosophies, complicated, and our lives, twisted.

How could they not be?

Our eyes, carrying more depth than the abyss of Black holes.

Iron running in our vessels,
The iron forged in the core of the stars.

We, too, are, stardust.

And yet, they tell us to be simple.
