I've often thought the same, but have long conceded that it doesn't matter.

It's the fire I'm attached to - the outcome, by comparison, is arbitrary.

Yes I agree I have lust and fire attached to it. But sometimes I wished some reader missed me if I weren't here.

For me as well, I mean: it feels like fire when I'm writing, exciting, alive, even when the work is bad.

If I were to ever lose that feeling, I would miss it more than the readers would miss me.
