Cotton in a web,

A spider's disappointment;

Long-lasting hunger.

Hi Anna ... This is a well crafted Haiku... You must have studied spiders. I like the representation you used here. Its maternal instinct for spider to guard and vigilant of their next generation when they are born. She guards these little offspring with her dear life even not eating...for days and weeks and uses all her reserve fats...

Thank you for reviewing and I'm glad you can read so deeply into this haiku. I actually did not study spiders at all; I hate them so much. I was actually writing of a piece of cotton getting stuck in a web and a spider being disappointed at it not being food.

Likewise, to my knowledge, after watching Charlotte's Web, I was under the impression that spiders die after laying their eggs.
