The long slope of a finely crafted leg
Draws silence from my lips.
Despite the fullness of mouth and blush of cheek
My knees have never felt less weak.
A human's beauty speaks to my ears
like the great quiet of the outer realm,
And I see this “beauty” as easily as I catch sight of the racing sun
with the Night keeping it quick on the run.
My quest to appreciate the unique meld of bone and skin,
Or even the intangible within,
Has hit a dead end after a melancholy walk.
The truth is anything nice I say is all talk.
How I yearn to set my eyes upon the beautiful
people others claim to see.
The handsome him and the sexy she,
See me and never fail to flee.
People can hold the resilience of a stone
and prove a kindness which travels straight to the bone.
Yet, I reject and dissect their person apart;
Use their body and forget their heart.
I don't smile when a baby prompts me along
I won't sing just because you broke into song.
Every tear you shed on my shoulder
Could freeze over cause' I'm growing colder.
Faces twist and turn in a jumble.
The significance arrives as a shrinking mumble.
I see no statue of David, no image of God,
But rather an empty vessel and a fraud.
How nice to share in the sexual thrill,
The rising and sinking sexual chill...
Missing in action I pose no reaction
To my partner's efforts at sexual attraction.
