ONLY A MOTHER

Only a mother knows what's going on inside 

Even when everyone else leaves you 

She always stays by your side 

Only a mother can see those unseen tears 

That didn't even flow from your eyes 

Only a mother's hug can help you get by your fears 

Only a mother can understand how you feel

And she loves you for who you are 

Only a mother love is pure and real

Only a mother can sacrifice her life for you 

And she loves you more then anyone else does

So why should you not care for her and love her back too?

I wish i could agree and say the same things as this lovely poem can, but i cant. Sometimes a mother neglects and abandons their child. But to those mothers who i see interact with their children, i greatly admire them. This poem expresses some of what i've seen, its heartfelt and beautiful. nice job! :)

I liked it, I'm glad I share a bond like that with my mum. For most mums this is true but sadly not for all of them as was stated before... Oh well, you still did a great job!

This is true, but not for all the mothers, sadly. I think it's unfair how certain children have to suffer because of their parents' lack of love and care.
Good poem though, the rhyming scheme is cool.

Being a mother of three I understand this piece very well and agree.... wish all Moms were good... My Mom is... but I see child abuse so much.. its so devastating. This is a really good piece :)

I agree with you here, my mother raised seven children all on her own, we are poorer than dirt, but, unfortunately, she is one of those who have the word "abuse" written all over her. I'm not over exaggerating at all, I will say she did nome things right, better than most, but the word "care" hold no meaning to her.

Am I??? Well, thank you! And as for my mother, I only have a year left, come next August, I'm outa there!!!! My only concern is my brother Austin, the youngest, he still has three years with that woman, and I feel terrible about leaving him. He would have nobody, he's my best friend and he would have to face that alone.

Haha, despite it all, I'm flattered, my siblings are working on getting him out of there. My oldest brother is going to fight for custody, and my second oldest brother.... Well, he is crazy, he has called cps on her multiple times, just the day before yesterday, we had a social worker come in because she heard complaints about Physical abuse and reports about roaches and no food or cloths, once again, Austin and I had to worm our way out, because we did not want to be separated and put into foster care again. It's hard, though, because averything the lady asked us was true, and we had to deny it. Since they speak to use separately, we had to try to match up stories with each other. It was hard. Mom just wants us for the child support money. I often wish incould just blurt out everything she does, just to get taken away, there has got to be more out there. But I can't. I don't want to leave my brother or horses, animals, or our ranch. And jake, the crazy brother, has antisocial disorder. He can literally feel no other emotion but anger, at everything, he has no emotional connections with anything. If you look it up, which I think you should, you will understand more. When you are young they call it conduct disorder, it technically means he is a child serial killer, because mass mirderers like Ted bundi all had antisocial disorder. They don't feel regret or wsympathy, or anything. He just wants to split us up to get back at mom.

its a great poem but it isnt always ture. Some mothers leave before anyone else does. I hate being the downer but It isnt a ture poem. it is well written thought
