gooseA Poem by AnnikaThis morning on the radio, they reviewed a survey where Americans stated whether they could beat a goose in a fight. I wonder now. Not so hard that it takes over my day. But they walk by me as I sit on the steps to the lake, honking and swaggering towards the water. And I wonder. Not so hard though, because two of them are teaching their babies how to walk straight, such fuzzy, yellow innocence. I also wonder if I can still name my first dog Goose, even though it was my ex-boyfriend’s idea. I wonder what he would say if I did. I wonder, too, if he would still name his dog Goose. I wonder if people would ask me where I got the name and I wonder if I’d tell them the truth. © 2024 AnnikaReviews
