for my best friend and his lady love

 

Seeing you leave just breaks my heart

I know that you will only be gone for a few days

But still I can’t bear to see you go

You have captured my heart so completely

That I cannot breathe, cannot think without you

When we are apart, I think only of you

Nothing else matters.

 

You have my heart, my very soul

So much in love I am with you

I have fought long and hard to have you for my own

And now I cannot live without you

So now, I have to watch you go

Be safe, my love and come back to me

I will be here waiting for you.

 

For you are my perfect rose.

love poems are overrated. but when ive read this one, it seemed that i have captured the intensity of being fallen-in-love again. i dont know, but perhaps your words became rhythmical and magical that i breathe in love again... a new love ...perhaps! thanks for sharing!!!

To be in love...Yes when we are in love and we cannotse or speak to the person for days on end this is the state i find myself n also. So sad...you did a great job on this one! You captured that feeing very well and even i (a writer of fantasy) can connect with this on some level. Which, of course, is an acmplishment in itsef. Good job!

The perfect rose...I'm not sure it exists! Nicely put though Amanda, are you sure it is for a friend? It sounds personal to me, but then I'm no expert.

So much longing and love portrayed in this, seems to be more then just a friend, to find that perfect rose can take a lifetime and then when we find it, we find that it belongs to someone else, can be devastating.
