Sand & Stars

One of the first poems I made, haha.

We are still searching in the past.  We cannot bear to live in the present.
It isn’t until 8 minutes later when we feel the sunshine hit our skin. Digging in the desert searching for your remains.  Seeking the answers to our existence in the stars. That is all that occupies our mind. For you are so close, you are so very near. How is it that I see you in the night sky and madly wave at you but get no response? If I can see you, shouldn’t you be able to see me? I guess I will not be able to get any answer from you tonight. I will wake up early tomorrow prepared to dig deep through the sand and find you. My hope for finding you will never die, for I know you are there lying below my feet silently waiting for me to take you back home. Your bones are buried under so much sand and the heat has been beating on your hair all morning. You are tired. Wanting to be found. For you are so close, you are so very near. How is it that I can feel you underneath the desert sand and madly cry out your name but get no response? Silence can cause so much pain.

I love this poem. Your prose and use of poetry is completely beautiful. I think you could have made the format more creative than just a paragraph though. Form is major in poetry. It can add so much to your words.
