Good Luck With the TideA Poem by kenzie evansI watch the waves rising, but there's nothing left to do. Will it be surprising when the smash over you? You stood with your back to the sea What did you expect? That if you stood there casually, you;d gain the ocean's respect? Well, passiveness, ain't always best It's your turn to move your stubbornness towards the current what are you trying to prove? She'll pull herself together, let go of forever and she'll get on with her life; as you'll lay there with sand in your hair she'll say "Good luck with the tide." Tranquillity isn't assured with the waters ebb and flow, don't think you're all secure; the Great Blue can't be controlled. The wind on your face and the water seems swirling and sweet not ready, or bracing - You're really that blind to defeat. Playfully splashing, can't hear the crashing it's your turn to move put up walls inside - think you'll be safe & dry? What are you trying to prove? She'll pull herself together, let go of forever and get on with her life as you lay there, with sand in your hair she'll say "Good luck with the tide." The air is thick and misting, But you're not listening Those salt water kisses aren't real, the swells are breaking with the mistakes you're making. Well, passiveness ain't always best it was your turn to move your stubbornness towards the current what were you trying to prove? I pulled myself together, let go of forever, and got on with my life. as you laid there with sand in your hair, I said "Good luck with the tide."
