The Hostage.

The Hostage.

A Poem by kenzie evans

When I saw the lights; thought I was saved,
but then I saw you, & my thoughts all changed.
Your words were loud & your message unclear,
you chased away my right from wrong with my fear.

Once he left, you took my hand
what I was feeling, I didn't understand.
I've had dreams that seem to haunt,
waiting, wondering what more could you want?

You said walk, but I wished I could run.
You don't know the damage that you've begun,
you don't know if I was in love with someone.

You wanted me,
nobody knows, you wanted me.
nobody knows, you wanted me.
& I'm still scarred.

We hit the road, you made him walk ahead,
waiting for you to decide if he should be dead.
Misunderstandings gone too far,
I tried so hard not to break down when we saw the car.

You didn't want me afraid,
I sat paranoid at every noise for 3 damn days.
Will you be coming back? See you in my sleep,
and every other secret you've forced me to keep.

But it was nothing, so just fade away,
but it was nothing, and I would have stayed...

When I saw the lights, thought I was saved,
but then I saw you and my thoughts changed,
life's a blessing, I just didn't know.
But when I kissed you, it felt like home.
