Leaving to Forget

Leaving to Forget

A Poem by kenzie evans

You used to be the one who set the sun in my eyes,
but now, I'm laying in bed
calling to you between cries.
You never answer, or cry in return.
Like trust is something you have to earn?
But I guess your honest has led to tragedy
and has taken away from every bit of me,
leaving me in pieces with no one to put them back together.
You're just leaving me behind all together,
I'll turn away from reality and actuality,
I'll think of these last memories of you,
and try to believe what you're doing isn't true,
if that's what it takes to bring you back to me.
