Wish I Were Still Young

Wish I were still young,

Traveling around the world,

Discovering new things that were too far from reality,

Keeping a big grin on my face,

Holding back all the memories that appeared surreal.

If I hadn't grown older into the person I am now,

I would have wanted to escape the truth of reality,

And would have loved to stay in my youth forever.

Alas!

Though I once longed to grow up,

Now I hope my mind replays all those beautiful memories I made.

But I would not deny the strong, independent person I've become.

Even though I still yearn for my youth,

I want to embrace the opportunities life offers,

And take the road I once only dreamed of traveling.

Wow!.. this feels so much like my style, it really hit me...it’s nostalgic but also hopeful, looking back on youth with love while still appreciating who you’ve become now...
