Ascension DayA Poem by Andrew JohnQuatrainWe sat within the murky depths; belief just gripped belief's belief. But now we're up, we rise, rise, rise. Our stay there had been not too brief. But now we know our notions were a world once served by gods and heroes, something that was needed then, but now we thrive on ones and zeros. It’s such a welcome cheerful breath! For now we've ceased to drown, drown, drown. It’s such a welcome griefless breath! Those notions cease to hold us down. (7 Feb 2024)
