I Drink Coffee With Your Ghost

I Drink Coffee With Your Ghost

A Poem by Ali Guerra

Yesterday I woke
up alone; tomorrow I
will wake up alone
Tonight won’t be any
different, really.
Yesterday I missed
the sound of your voice
tomorrow I will miss
the lack of it,
probably.
Tonight isn’t any
different, really.
Yesterday you said,
“One day this will change.”
Tomorrow, though,
you’ll say it again
and it’s not any different,
really.

A very good poem. I like the way you led me into the story in the poem. Funny how we miss people. Come a time where we forget them and must move on. I like the coffee part. Coffee is our friend always. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
