The Anxiety of Fear and The Fear of Anxiety

The Anxiety of Fear and The Fear of Anxiety

A Poem by Alexandria Miller

Feel so much passion in your fears.

Feel the terrors taint your bones

And stain your teeth

Like the morning’s coffee

And night’s cigarettes.

Let your fears engulf your skin

And puncture your lip

And drip into your eyes,

Let it poor loosely over your head

Like the water of a cold shower.

Let it squeeze your hand

And abuse your ego.

Let the fear bury you,

A quiet body under the streets

Before the rumble decomposes you
