In Some Other World

In Some Other World

A Poem by Alexandria Miller

In some other world, life is not so mundane.
Life is not so much busy work and worker bee, ant-like tasks.
In another world, so far away and so unattainable in its entirety,
life is intensity and pursuing and
coming together peacefully, productively, and passionately.
In some other world,
life is not insecurities and feeling of emptiness,
disappointment and the urge to want more.
In another world,
life is beautiful and accepting
and our value is deeper than the skin on our bones
and the numbers in our bank account.
In another world,
I don’t see stretch marks on stomachs,
scars on faces, or cellulite on legs.
In another world, I see passion in the eyes, love in the hands
and beauty in words.
In some other world,
we are less concerned with the inexplicably tiny piece of the universe
that is ourselves
and more concerned with the large picture that is each other.
In some other world,
we are complete.
