Author's Note

this poem is about a girl kept in captivity, as she grows older, her abuser becomes less attracted to her. One day, she slits her wrists and kills herself. Please be brutally honest with me about this one.

In light of the recent event in Cleveland, this poem hit me very hard, and it is oh so sad. It is an emotional read and the ending is a shocker. The pattern is consistent, the spacing of the phrases very uniform, makes for quick, flowing read.

I like the repetition. It really makes the big girl part much more dramatic. I think the each stanza could be followed up with some more descriptive lines to give us a more dramatic look at her life and when she's in the middle of being a big girl. This is a great poem that is very original! Good job!
