One Day

stretching out at long last, for a moment I felt safe

nestled securely inside this tranquil domain

or so I believed,

before the storm lit

all sides around

and from a very long way I could see

faint hearted replies

wrapped in dastardly lies

behind small corners and shadowy sounds

why should I be surprised

cluttered paths break this heavy heart

we get weary at times

stubborn talks in the middle of pride

no real solutions

it remains the same

and I wonder why did I even stop to try

one day 

when life has slowed to a lightning fast crawl

and our time has suspended

we will be

when the promise is ready

you ...

it takes so long to gain back trust when a relationship fails...and sometimes the partner is just not ready...too much damage, too much clutter....but once it clears...maybe the promise will be ready..

i really like this piece.
