The Best Day

SUMMER.. this is probably one of the best way i can describe me and my friends.. :)

The Best day

 

I woke up in the morning
Realizing school was over
it's the first day of summer
and i'm ready to explore

 

No more homeworks except for one
and that's to have fun
no more waking up early
and just staying up all night.

 

I meet up with my friends
and turned the radio on.
it blasted our favorite songs
as we started to party and jumped in the car
and take a trip around town

 

we headed to the beach
and make the best day of our life.
snorkled with the porpoises,
made some new friends,
find a few cutie
and take pictures of every single thing.

 

people can't help looking at us
for laughing at just about everything
but none of us care
and continued doing what we want

 

by the end of the day,
we sat on the pristine sand
and watched the sunset
as we planned our two months together
and think tomorrow
is just another day away
and it's full of adventurous surprises
as we all murmured, 'this is the best day ever'.

Aww, a very cute and lighthearted poem! You set the tone of the poem really well, and described the situation with a lot of enthusiasm, which made it a really enjoyable read. I particularly liked your last stanza, especially the part about sitting on the beach watching the sunset; I live right beside a beach, so a lot of my 'Best Day' memories are based on what you described in your last stanza! :D
