The Waiting Game

The Waiting Game

A Poem by lissa3333333

Caught in a tight grip

while being dragged down,

down a narrow hall

with a struggle to end all.

But not a soul can hear

the blood-curdling screams.

Then violently thrown

in a far away room

with a crash and fall,

ram into a wall.

Hit the cold floor

with a weep and a moan.

A slam of the door

and the lock goes click.

Crawl into a corner

and curl in a ball.

Feel the damp darkness

and smell the rotting flesh.

Sit for hours and

agonizingly wait.

Then the door creaks,

this is it. . .

A flick of a switch

and dim light appears.

The first sight to see

is my killer

waiting for me.
