My Selfie.A Poem by Tinotenda NyevedzanaiPoem - ATCI took a selfie at the top of the pyramid, My greatest achievment, My smile big and proud But when I looked at the resultng photograph I saw another pyramid in the background. Over my shoulder I glanced But I saw nothing there, What had happened to my iphone? Did it need to be repaired? I snapped another thirty Each came out the same, But different. Every take the second pyramid Grew bigger hiding my face altogether. I showed the other tourists But they couldn't see what was in front of them, "It's behind us!" I would say, But they all looked at me like I was crazy, So I ventured off on my own, In search for the hidden stones I seemed to walk forever I became dirty, isolated I was never going to find what I was looking for. My phone died rather quickly, I ate what I could find around me Nothing could deter this mission When I stopped talking I learned to listen. It was strange, deranged possibly I had finally gone insane. But I seemed to accept that fact, For I felt amazing. And there I stood as my self Over seeing the entire world On top of a pyramid that no one Would ever get to see on Facebook. © 2015 Tinotenda NyevedzanaiFeatured Review
