Finding Home

It was night in a window,

floors sealed in silence

doors as exits

evacuation a non option

he sealed himself in

gazed most times at the window

its darkness gathered around his mind

is this the way out of yesterday’s mind

a boy ponders

the salt of an idea lingers on his tongue

a sudden dash out the window of illusion

sounds gather, he finds home.

I feel like I just saw the writing on the wall: he was here -- love that salty idea and the lingering of it. perfect way to describe the constant nagging thought. :)

wow, this is heavy...that boy in his mind, but older in body...having suffered loss, is looking for home.
he exits.
great last stanza...
