Vacation in Maine

Withered heart
Bones speaking in arthritic temperament
Somewhere in here is a healthy me
I'm holding on to the best parts
Adventure, rhyme, furry friends
While Bar Harbor reveals its secrets to me
I keep myself tied to everyday events
Cadillac mountain magnificence,
Acadia's rocky shore line calls
I'm returning to places yet unseen
The wilds of travel talk to me
Like youth past I sense excitement holding me.

This piece made me smile.

Maine is a place that is very special to me and you have captured the magic I see there every time I go.

i like these recent poems...you speak of recapturing youth....wish we could, but some of us never let go of that sense of excitement....and the bones run with reckless abandon once again.

Walks through the wildernesses, through open fields or rocky moors are always a beautiful experience to behold. "The wilds of travel talk to me" has such a magical tone to it....:))))
Sometimes in life, all it takes is to hold on to our best parts, because in the end everything passes... we only get to choose the things that stay with us the longest.
