Of All That is Real

A small soul of rain follows gravity’s trail

to abundant forest leaves.

The air is evening and the light mystical to touch

I listen as the soul of rain falls

my silent footsteps lean into the soft soil

I am here among them all

those that came so long ago

those that arrive a millennium from now

the forest light shades a bit darker

oh…..now vision plays the music in the pupil

i still and feel it all around me

a calm sense, serenity, here in the elemental

of all that is real!

What a wonderful piece you have here. You really got me thinking with the lines "I am here among them all those that came so long ago those that arrive a millennium from now." Great read!

I envy you, your little piece of heaven on earth. I'd be willing to bet that Jackson and Honey love it just as much as you!

It's an overwhelming feeling, to be at one with nature. I feel it every morning when I jog. And I love the silence, whenever I'm afforded the time to dwell within it. I find it speaks to me - does that sound crazy?

Your poetry gives my muse wings, Alfred...take care!

They say you create your own reality … quite a reality, Al. Beautiful.

I could stare at the forest all day, wrap its silence around me, touch the secrets of the soil with my whole body. This is the reason I bought the house!

Thank you all for your kind words and encouragement!

Regards,
Al

Love the quietude and reverence, reminds me of a Rumi quote.

"When the soul lies down in that grass
the world is too full to talk about.”

in such quiet solitude, wrapped in nature, we really hear the souls that have passed and those to come and all that is recycled matter...this is deep, beautiful poetry, Al
