A Vengeance of Joy

A Vengeance of Joy

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

a snowy holiday

"

A Vengeance of Joy

A sweet vengeance of cold in winter's breath
Icicles turn to lollipops as kids turn to joy
In a tournament of sleds that ride a Milky Way
You smell the scent of school closings waffling in the air
The triumph of holiday surrounds a crowd of youthful eyes
As ears turn to childhood days when we lived in free air.

Those stages of life are truly memorable and the moments are innumerable...An excellent write, Mr. Kukitz..................

When that line entered my head I knew one thing good was coming. As I slid down the hill the words became part of the sled.

That you both for your visit!

Regards,
Al

Oh how alive this poem is and in a soft voice of realizing the memories living of years ago - beautiful!

it's amazing, being a teacher, how we see the difference of youth and age...

as kids, snow means a holiday..yay....

as teachers, we lose a day we need, nay...

i felt and saw my breath with this one.
