Tone Deaf Melody

Tone Deaf Melody

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

can you hear me now

"

Tone Deaf Melody

You hear the sounds whistling in trees
Tones of ancient melodies
I'm here to tell I can't hear the score
When grace, silence, sky believed in more
Have they left on a tone deaf melody
like birds of yesteryear who loved the trees
I sit in shadows, an earless bum,
hoping that tones will bring me home
I'm humming a tune that belies my skin
Blues, blues, blues in the soul of man.

gorgeous ink...I can feel the wind in my ear...this poem
reminds me of a Josephine Wall painting. unfortunately,
I forgot the name of it. your pen weaves of brilliant poignant
beauty. Thank you for sharing (:

This piece accrued during a symphony of poetic ideas. I am tone deaf and before I was aware my guitar broke many a string. Aside from journal writing I was looking for a creative outlet. A player of instrument was not for me.

I hope the grab tickled a little. Thanks Jacob!

Regards,
Al

and yet, we feel and hear those blues inside...even with deaf ears...the heart hears.

such a sad lament here...but so strong in how it reaches out and grabs me.
