The Horsemen’s Ride

Feel like a yesterday with deep phantoms in my mind

a rich cavalcade of memories lassoing the self inside.

Like a race horse dawn, the hooves racing a beaten path

I rear myself on a white stallion dream

for someday when the sun sets near

I ‘ll ride myself into the final scene.

As the credits play and the song is clear

this big cowboy has lost his tears

all loves made of sorrow

all hooves flying which way it ends,

I found the trail along the marrow

As silence plays happy on winds of tomorrow.

one of my favorites of yours...and i almost think the first stanza could stand alone as a poem...

love the metaphorical flavor to this.

we will all eventually ride into the final scene.
