Day One

Day One

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

honey is gone

"

Day One (Honey's Gone)

You back in to paw prints feeling life sucked out of air
Memories surround a given stare
Wag of tail, wag of body lost in a spin
You wander about how life's uneven whims
catapult your sadness into a void no one finds within.

She's gone to heaven on my chariot of grief
There is no telling how my tears will ever increase
Honey is happy in a new formed home
A buddy named Tucker will play by her side
Oh the fun of excitement in a yard a mile high.

Thanks m.s.

I'm second guessing myself all the time, could there have been a better way?

Thanks E!

She didn't die just moved on to a more appropriate home. Still it stings, Jackson, who I am spoiling right now, and I sit in the gloom.

Oh... so sorry for the loss.

A friend is a friend no matter how many legs. Love knows no bounds. I hope your healing is quick.

sorry man! brings grown hard men to tears ..one Saturday afternoon, years ago, I was enjoying a cold one at the local tavern; when the only other patron looked at me with such depth of sadness I could not help but inquire I he was OK ...barely three words escaped and he collapsed in bitter weeping ..he had lost his great dog friend that morning ... all i could do was sit next to him in silence .. until his weeping subsided ... i am so sorry for you loss .. truly i am!
