Dreamless Labor

Dreamless Labor

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

once a labor

"

Dreamless Labor

Once a labor, tired and worn
An honesty bred into each moment's chore
You work the tiredness into the bones
You forgive the boredom as part of your throne
A simple task, a fact of income,
You live the day as though the dream never came

Thanks Jacob!

My first job was scrubbing floors at a brewery. The plan was 1970 and college but some guy I called father got in the way.

Regards,
Al

we are Kings and Queens of kingdoms of tedious work just to survive...
and the rebellion is just in dreams of escape.
