A Cookie Jar Friendship

A Cookie Jar Friendship

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

hmmm good!

"
A Cookie Jar Friendship
A cookie jar friendship
Sugars in a bowl
Laughter a cloth dressing each soul
How the cookie crumbles on a jaw filled grin
We lick our fingers like kids on a binge
Oh how sweet to know you my old old friend!

This is a beautiful playful expression of gratitude that would make anyone feel like a million dollars! I love the cookie jar analogy, reminding us of how it was, back when the cookie jar held a hidden longing, an irresistible sweet treat, & then this being a way to imagine an old friend. I really believe in friendships based on being sweet & kind rather than those that are abrasive just cuz you can get away with it, with an old friend.
