walking into darkness

Unknown

No one said a word
They forgotten words
Silence pervaded everything
Heads turned
Eyes met eyes
Chests rose and fell
A step taken
A second step taken
More breathing
Were their expectations
Was a sound entering into the air
No reason, no imagination
Nothing
They moved in unison
The nothing gathering around souls
They moved beyond their own steps
Moving further into the unknown
