Hand

Hand

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

can we hold hands

"

Hand

Held in my hand
was a hand to a hand
Skin white just like a
black man’s grip
My eyes gather on human
skin telling me briefly
that skin is not the thing.

In far away echoes I held your eyes
traveling the soul’s path in the white
of the eye
Surely something or someone shakes up things
because soul is colorless as I wink to its being.

Almost home
Eyes to the sky
I cleverly climb
the hill in the air
The sanctions of which
I feel it’s graces time

I love nature. If I live long enough. I want to travel and see the beauty of nature's gifts. I liked and I understood the poem my friend. Thank you Alfred for sharing the amazing poetry.

Thanks E!

In olden days, when in the Nam, blacks & whites were at odds. Griggs, the tow truck operator, and I became friends but when the racial hatred started it was just business, otherwise, he would be in trouble.

interesting ... i think this is particularly strong:
"Skin white just like a
black man’s grip " ...that alone deserves...no, demands attention ..love it! in this line:
"Surely something or someone shakes up things " i think it might read more smoothly as "...shakes things up" instead .. i have a real sense of lots between the lines but it is just out of reach for me ... the syntax in your closing line seems a bit rough ..but hey...that's what poetic license is all about right?! i love the hand to hand ..very personal..and the switch to a more mystical path ... your poem has kind of put its hooks in me noodle .. ;)
