Eye of God

Eye of God

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

no gods in my eyes

"

Eye of God

i’m naked among the soul of God
she sees in me an empty stare
tuned into the devil’s band
i feel some revenge in his hand
turmoil in the catholic click
i said my prayers like any kid
knelt in god’s house waiting His kiss
confirmation, confession, all that s**t
so send me off to vietnam
a death wish is my blessed land
where boys lay dead like a prayer said
a father raised by catholic means
who controlled the innocence in his dread

what to make of God’s big plan
she soothes me in her grace in a special special land.

Thanks Coyote!

Deb’s religious conviction clashes with my religious experience.

A lot said in the poetry Alfred. The trickery of God? We are taught the dirt of life. Thank you for sharing your amazing words and thoughts.
