The Chime’s Ring

The Chime’s Ring

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

Old Man Magic

"

The Chime’s Ring

For a brief moment I held the chime of time
Oh so close to a weathered me
I asked the chime if it was mine
When the sounding silence chanted a kiss
the dew of life embraced me

Whilst little birds sang
Bugs crawled across the land
wishing to surely fly
I stooped down to give them a ride
Off in the air did they sing
The Bugs of Air had won the chime’s ring!

Nicely in touch with nature Al, sadly I hear our insect friends have dropped by 43%, alarmingly so due to climate change and over use of insecticides. Particularly moths , butterflies and bees are in danger. Somehow mosquitoes and flies seem unaffected. Funny that!
