Who Listened

Who Listened

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz

reaching into nowhere

Who Listened?

When the arc of beauty sang its praise

When the dream of yesteryear echoed a psalm

How words once followed a poetic line

And music gave it a lasting chyme

Or have you fallen ears lend itself to noise

Or a cacophony blasted yours ear to hell

Once in dream you lived like a king

But the trance of magic has left your scheme

Daydream follow follow until it finds

The place you lived when you were child!

Hello Old Friend!

I'm 71 and in love. Soon to be married for the first time!

I think somewhere along the line, my ears were blasted to hell...the deafening roar of truth mixed with lies, reality mixed with hopeful fantasy...
I can't go back to that place anymore...where I was a child...i can only have a strong longing for it.
